Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October. The next event is Saturday, October 28, 2006.
Millions have participated. In 2005, over 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
Join the Girl Scouts in the Smoky Shadows Service Unit Sevier County, Tennessee this year for their "Walk for the Animals" held in conjunction with "Make a Difference Day" on October 21, 2006 at the Pigeon Forge Community Center Park.
The Girl Scouts Of The Smoky Shadows Service Unit will take pledges for dog and cat food, bleach and kitty litter for the Sevier County Humane Society. We will walk laps at our local city park in Pigeon Forge. We will have competitons, prizes, food and fun for the whole family.
